Makeup artist brings more than two decades of experience across beauty, fashion and artist development.
September 24, 2026
By: Lianna Albrizio
Hourglass Cosmetics has named Jenny Atwood Smith director, global artistry.
In her new role, Smith will help shape the brand’s artistry vision across markets, supporting product launches, education and key brand initiatives. She will draw on her experience in makeup artistry, product innovation and talent development to bring the brand’s creative direction to life while helping artists strengthen their technique, product knowledge, confidence and leadership.
Smith brings more than two decades of experience across the beauty and fashion industries. Before joining Hourlgass Cosmetics, she served as global makeup artist and educator for Nars. During her tenure, she worked across education, marketing, sales, brand, innovation and product development to support seasonal collections, major launches, international training programs and editorials.
Smith’s career has taken her to Fashion Weeks in New York, London, Paris, Los Angeles and Singapore. She has served as a key makeup artist for designers including Jason Wu, Bibhu Mohapatra, Naeem Khan and Timo Weiland, and has worked backstage with brands including Rodarte, Marc Jacobs, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Christopher Kane and Erdem.
“My approach to artistry has always been rooted in intention, not only in what we create, but in the choices we make as artists,” Smith said. “Hourglass Cosmetics’ commitment to vegan, cruelty-free beauty deeply resonates with my own values. The brand has proven that innovation, cutting-edge performance and extraordinary luxury can coexist with a more conscious approach to beauty. I’m excited to bring my experience in global artistry and education to that vision, while continuing to inspire artists to develop their technique, confidence and leadership for the brand.”
